The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred after a vehicle pursuit ended on Sunday, Nov. 9, authorities said.
The incident took place around 2:10 p.m. when New Jersey State Police troopers were involved in a pursuit that ended in the City of Orange Township, according to a release from the Attorney General’s Office.
A male civilian was injured, the AG said. His identity and the identities of the law enforcement officers involved are not being released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been released.
Under Attorney General Directive 2019-4, known as the Independent Prosecutor Directive, the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability (OPIA) determines which agency conducts the independent investigation of an officer-involved shooting. OPIA serves as the default independent investigator in cases involving the New Jersey State Police, officials said.
