Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto said the domestic two-wheeler market is showing signs of steady recovery, supported by the festive season and recent goods and services tax (GST) rate cuts. He expects industry growth of 6-8% in the coming quarters, with premium products leading the way.
Speaking after the company’s July-September 2025 quarter earnings announcement on November 7, 2025, Sharma noted that the domestic market had turned around after a weak start to the year. “The industry was sort of languishing in the April–August period… it was a tad negative,” he said. “The GST rate card timed with the festive season has catalysed the industry back into growth.”
He added that the recovery is not just about volume but also about the “quality of growth.” According to him,
