A Butler Township man is facing criminal homicide charges after a 2-year-old baby stopped breathing while in his care and died at the hospital on Saturday, Nov. 8, according to state police in Butler.
Vincent Miceli, 32, was charged Sunday, Nov. 9, with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and child endangerment following the incident, according to state police.
Police said they responded at around 2:45 p.m. Saturday to a residence on Spooner Drive for reports of a 2-year-old baby not breathing. Police said there was apparent bruising on the 2-year-old’s head and torso. The baby was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital where he died.
An autopsy on Sunday showed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head.
