Gujarat Gas Ltd (GGL) , one of the largest City Gas Distribution companies in the country reported a 9.4 per cent year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit that stood at ₹280 crore for the second quarter of the current financial year 2025-26.
The company, a state PSU, that primarily operates in the segment of natural gas business recorded less than 1 per cent growth in its revenues for the quarter which stood at ₹3979 crore from ₹3949 crore a year earlier.
The company is currently in the midst of amalgamation process where Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL) and GSPC Energy Ltd (GEL) will be merged with Gujarat Gas.
As part of the restructuring, the transmission business will be demerged post the amalgamation process and listed as GSP
