BROOKLYN, Ohio -- Work is progressing quickly on the Brooklyn High School main gym renovation.
There are roughly two months before the official opening of the new athletic and learning space.
“This is an exciting time for our school community as we continue to invest in spaces that support student learning, creativity and community engagement,” Brooklyn City Schools Superintendent/CEO Theodore Caleris said.
The renovation of the high school main gym includes new ADA-friendly bleachers and equipment, as well as the refinishing of the floor.
This first phase of construction is roughly $500,000 and also covers backboards, new ceiling, new acoustic panels and new HVAC.
The second phase of work -- adding new high school entrances with security enhancements -- is expected to begin early nex
