Ariana Grande's contact lens "popped out" after she was scared by Michelle Yeoh during an intense scene in Wicked: For Good. The Oscar-winning actress, who plays the film's antagonist Madame Morrible, has revealed that director Jon M. Chu encouraged her to scare Grande in an intense confrontation scene, and she stunned her co-star so much that her contact lens came out. "I love when I look at you, you're like fresh and naïve," Yeoh told Grande during the TV special, Wicked: One Wonderful Night. "And then Jon will come up to me and say, 'Scare the hell out of Ariana.' (I said), 'Are you sure?' He (said), 'Yes', so I just turned and ran at her, literally, like (starts making yelling sounds). She dropped onto the couch. She was so scared (that) a contact lens popped out." An outtake of the scene was then broadcast, showing Grande's Glinda tearfully reacting to Yeoh's yelling. She breaks character as a contact lens emerges from her eye and starts laughing, telling the crew, "I'm so sorry y'all, my contact came out!" Recalling the incident, the pop star joked that it was "the best moment of my life" and "a really cherished moment". The Everything Everywhere All At Once actress added, "I loved scaring you," to which Grande replied, "I savour every minute," as they hugged. Wicked: One Wonderful Night, which aired last week, is a concert special in which the Wicked movie cast performed songs from the musical. Grande was joined on stage by her co-stars Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater and Marissa Bode. The special also featured never-before-seen clips and pre-recorded conversations with the whole cast. Wicked: For Good, the follow-up to 2024's Wicked, will be released in cinemas on 21 November.
