Pakistan successfully passed the 27th constitutional amendment on Monday, effectively institutionalising military supremacy, sources told News18 .

According to top Indian intelligence sources, the central intent of this significant piece of legislation is to formalise the supremacy of Pakistani army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The intelligence sources said one of the most drastic changes brought about by the amendment is the reorganisation of the military command structure. Parliament has legislated the creation of a unified command mechanism, they said.
