(CNN) - President Donald Trump is pardoning dozens of his political allies for their support in alleged plans to overturn the 2020 election results.
The Department of Justice’s pardon attorney, Ed Martin, posted on X a proclamation apparently signed by Trump that says the president is granting dozens of his allies “full, complete, and unconditional” pardons from federal charges.
The list of those being pardoned includes Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell as well as the president’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows. The proclamation explicitly states it doesn’t apply to Trump himself.
In September, a judge ordered Giuliani to pay $1.36 million in legal fees he racked up during investigations into his efforts to overturn Trump’s election loss, according to the Associated P
