The Co-op has revealed plans to make major changes across stores throughout the UK as it looks to refurbish and re-open many of its sites, including one in Greater Manchester. Alongside this, the retailer also revealed it will open a number of brand-new stores before Christmas .

The retailer announced it will be opening up, re-opening and refurbishing 50 of its stores in the months running up to Christmas.

Among the changes, the Co-op also confirmed it will be refurbishing its Great Moor site in Stockport as part of a major investment into the store.

The news comes after the retailer also announced one of its first new 'on the go' micro stores was coming to Altrincham .
