The Atlanta Braves came into the season with high expectations, but they fell short by a lot. They were one of the more disappointing teams in baseball this year and they need to do everything in their power to avoid repeating this heartbreak next year.

The Braves could dive into free agency very aggressively in order to avoid disappointment again.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale recently predicted the Braves would steal free agent pitcher Dylan Cease from the San Diego Padres this offseason.

Cease's free agency sweepstakes could get rather expensive this winter. Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently projected Cease would sign for $187 million this offseason and the Braves could make a solid run at him for that price.

The Braves could afford to add another pitcher to their loaded rotation.
