A baby formula is being recalled after links to infant botulism were suspected in 10 states, including New Jersey.
Two lots of ByHeart, an organic baby formula company known for whole nutrition formula, have been voluntarily recalled after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, aka FDA, recommended it .
Although ByHeart has complied with the recall and is recommending the discontinued use of all related products, the company denied a direct link between its formula and infant botulism, noting in a public statement that "no related toxins have been found in any ByHeart product."
So far, there have been 13 cases of infant botulism across 10 states, all of which have resulted in hospitalizations. As of Nov. 8 there had been no reported deaths.
