SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The City of Spartanburg is clearing up some confusion regarding the agreement to rebuild a clock tower in a new location at a later date.

Officials said in the agreement that was signed on Oct. 8, the city will remove the clock tower structure. Several bricks, the clock, the bell, the mechanisms, plaques and the peak will be saved during the process.

The agreement goes on to say that the new location for the rebuilt clock tower will include the “aforementioned elements” and the location will be selected by city council after a study of appropriate locations and public input.

"City Council has expressed interest in moving forward on the matter of finding a location for the clock tower as soon as is feasible, and we will share information on that process
