Following the blast at Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening, which killed at least eight people and left several others injured, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that the police force be placed on high alert, intensive checking be initiated, and security arrangements across the state be strengthened.

He obtained details of the incident from Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna, said officials.

DGP Krishna told The Indian Express that he has issued the following instructions to all district police officers:

-All senior police officers must remain present on the field and personally visit, inspect, and patrol sensitive and crowded areas, markets, public gatherings, and religious places.
