Two 4-year-olds were hospitalized after they were shot Saturday at their family home, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they responded to Advent Health East after receiving reports of two boys with gunshot wounds.
The boys were transported to the hospital by their parents, according to the OCSO.
Deputies conducted interviews with both parents, who said they did not witness the shooting but heard a loud "pop" inside their home.
Deputies said the twins' mother, Keishara Goodrum, told them she had consumed large amounts of alcohol the day before the shooting.
Goodrum then explained that she took her handgun, sat down on her living room couch and tucked the weapon under one of the cushions.
