ROCKLAND, Maine — A 23-year-old man from Arkansas was arrested early Saturday morning in Rockland after police said he provided officers with a false name and attempted to flee during an investigation.

Officers on patrol around 2 a.m. on Nov. 8 found an unregistered van parked at a local business after hours, according to a social media post by the Rockland Police Department. When officers approached the vehicle, they discovered a man sleeping inside.

Police said the man initially gave a false name and date of birth. After further investigation, officers identified him as Jonathon Daugherty, 23, of Arkansas.

Authorities determined that Daugherty had a non-extraditable warrant from Arkansas for failure to appear and failure to register as a sex offender, according to the post. During t
