A former Bristol County jail employee, an inmate and three others have been indicted in a scheme to smuggle drugs into the facility, officials announced on Monday.
Ginger Hook, 46, of New Bedford, worked for the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office as the coordinator of library services, the sheriff's office confirmed in a media release. She is accused of working with inmate Joseph Housley, 25, of Rehoboth, and three others to smuggle synthetic marijuana, often known as K2 or spice, and distribute it.

The investigation began in March 2025. Housley is accused of selling thousands of dollars' worth of the drugs to other inmates, with help from Hook, two former inmates and a third person outside.
