TD Bank is closing eight branches throughout New Jersey — including three in North Jersey — after closing six branches in the state earlier this year, a company spokesperson confirmed. TD Bank is the 12th largest bank in the U.S. by total assets, according to the Federal Reserve .
The closures come as banks have been scaling back their brick-and-mortar presence and transitioning to online and mobile services, drawing the criticism that at-risk residents including the elderly and people with disabilities won't have easy access to financial services.
