The heavy snow will continue today, but in a more isolated pattern. Then the whole upper-air pattern shifts around and brings much warmer air. Here are the important changes coming in our Michigan weather.

1. Significant Lake Effect Snow Impacting Specific Michigan Regions

Several areas of Michigan experienced substantial lake effect snow over the weekend, with the heaviest accumulations concentrated in specific regions. The eastern part of Leelanau County and the western Traverse City area received 6-9 inches, with Northport reporting 10 inches. The Saginaw area saw 5-7 inches in spots coming off Saginaw Bay through Bay City into Saginaw County. The southwest corner of the state also reported 6-8 inches of snow. The lake effect snow is expected to continue until approximately 4:00 a.m.
