A man was stabbed to death Sunday night after a fight at a TGI Fridays in Union County, authorities said.

Officers were called to the restaurant on South Park Avenue in Linden shortly before 10 p.m. and discovered a man lying on the ground, unresponsive from a stab wound, according to police.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he later died.

Police did not release the victim’s name, and did not say whether the fight occurred inside the restaurant or in the parking lot.

The death is under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and Linden Police Department detectives.
