Big-time games bring out the best in big-time players and the quarterfinal round of the 2025 RIIL football playoffs was no exception.

Fourteen games took place over the weekend and there were way more than 14 great performances. It made for good football – but also made it hard to decide on five nominees for the Providence Journal Quarterfinals Player of the Week.

After going through what went down, we leaned heavily on competitive balance vs. straight statistics – but also didn’t ignore some of the monster numbers that were thrown out there. While there are some worthy candidates you won’t see below, we think these five are more than worthy to be voted on.
