GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Tuesday is Veterans Day. It's a time for all of us to honor those who served to defend our country.

In Kent County alone, there are about 40,000 veterans.

This year, 13 ON YOUR SIDE is partnering with the Kent County Veteran Services to recognize veterans and bring attention to the many free services available to them.

As part of Operation Greenlight, the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weatherball will be lit green on Veterans Day with other Kent County landmarks.

The week-long campaign, running from November 4 to 11, encourages residents to replace their outdoor lights with green bulbs to show support for military veterans. The initiative is part of a nationwide program led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Office
