ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As holiday travel picks up and more families opt to drive amid flight disruptions tied to the government shutdown, Georgia officials are urging safety on the roads.

Traffic enforcement will start ramping up on Nov. 22, the weekend before Thanksgiving, with the “Click It or Ticket” campaign . The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety says it will work with local law enforcement to enforce seat belt and child passenger safety.

The goal is to reduce crashes and make sure children under eight are riding in a properly installed child passenger safety seat, GOHS said in a press release.
