MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Federation of Educators (MFE) and Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) held a joint news conference Monday morning to share details about the tentative agreement reached over the weekend between the district and union.
The deal covers the contracts for teachers, educational support professionals (ESPs) and adult educators. It includes better pay, smaller class sizes and caseload limits, according to officials.
The agreement, reached Saturday, Nov. 8, was presented at the John B. Davis Education Service Center on Monday with union and district leaders, including MFE Presidents Marcia Howard and Catina Taylor, and Superintendent Lisa Sayles-Adams.
After months of disagreement, the two groups came to the table without an outside mediator last week.
