(Reuters) -Brazilian Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said on Monday he expects Germany to announce a contribution to the Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF) by year-end.
The multilateral fund, proposed by Brazil, aims to support global conservation of endangered forests.
Speaking to CNN Brasil, Haddad said the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and China have also backed the initiative. He added that Brazil hopes to end its COP presidency next year with over $10 billion pledged to the fund, up from about $5.5 billion so far.
