The sports wagering market produced over $10 million in contributions to the state’s education fund last month due to a calendar packed with post-season baseball, college and professional football and the start of professional basketball and hockey schedules, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission reported Monday.
The commission found that sports betting contributed $14.1 million to the state, with Maryland bettors wagering $736,610,585 in October and winning back $663,885,230 in prizes.
Nearly $44 million in sports wagering contributions have gone to the state since the 2026 fiscal year began on July 1.
