KENTUCKY – A brand of infant formula is being recalled out of an abundance of caution amid an ongoing investigation into a botulism outbreak.
That’s according to the U.S Food & Drug Administration, which reports that ByHeart, a nutrition company, is recalling two batches of its Whole Nutrition Infant Formula.
The FDA says a broader ongoing investigation is looking into a recent outbreak of infant botulism.
Signs and symptoms of the condition include constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelid, sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty and possible respiratory arrest, health experts say.
