CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The trial of two men accused of killing NoDa business owner Scott Brooks hit a brief snag Monday after the court dismissed a juror.
Juror number four, who had earlier raised concerns about being able to serve because he works third shift, had not responded to court officials on Monday. The judge has since replaced him with an alternate. Court officials said the juror could face jail time if he fails to reply to their attempts to contact him.
Despite the disruption, witness testimony, which began on Friday, is continuing on Monday.
Scott Brooks, co-owner of the beloved Brooks’ Sandwich House in NoDa, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in 2019.
The case has drawn close attention from family, friends, and longtime customers who remember Brooks f
