A popular rapper is in custody as part of an investigation into the murder of a a Tawainese influencer.

The BBC reported that Malaysian rapper Namewee 42, was the last person seen with 31-year-old Iris Hsieh, who was found dead in a Kuala Lumpur hotel bathtub two weeks ago.

Namewee, real name Wee Meng Chee, is in custody to “assist in the investigation,” according to the BBC.

He has denied drug allegations despite testing positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, ketamine, and THC.

The rapper, often in his trademark beanie and in sunglasses, is known for his satirical and profanity-laced music. He has 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube and 856,000 followers on Instagram and is extremely popular in Taiwan and China.
