MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Paul Prine has announced his candidacy for Mobile County sheriff in the 2026 election.
Prine, Mobile's former police chief who served for three decades in public service, said that if elected, he plans to make the safety and security of Mobile County residents his top priority.
He said the Sheriff’s Office must reduce crime in rural areas while addressing crime and its perception within the City of Mobile. Prine said those issues affect the entire region.
“As Chief of Police, I led with integrity and achieved proven results in reducing crime while strengthening trust between law enforcement and the community,” Prine said in his campaign announcement. “It is time for proven leadership that is tough on crime
