On Monday, eight Democrats joined 51 Republicans to vote to end the longest Government shutdown in the history of the Republican Party; however, there are still a handful of obstacles ahead.

Political Strategist Arif Halaby joined "Good Morning San Diego" to discuss the timeline and aftermath of the shutdown.

Halaby says the difference between this most recent vote and the previous rounds is the pressure back on Air Traffic Controllers.

"You're starting to see delays in air travel," Halaby said.

The hope is that the shutdown will end this week.
