LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky holds at No. 9, and Louisville drops down one spot to No. 12. That's where the teams will be ranked in the first Associated Press regular-season Top 25 when the meet on Tuesday in the KFC Yum! Center.
The big shakeup was at the top, with Houston overtaking Purdue in the No. 1 spot after the Boilermakers fell to Kentucky in a preseason exhibition in the KFC Yum! Center.
Purdue got twice as many first-place votes, but Houston had more points in the polling of national media. Four other teams got first-place votes in addition to the top two: No. 3 UConn, No. 4 Duke and No. 6 Michigan and No. 8 Alabama, which jumped seven spots after an overtime win over St. John's.
