Following the passage of a continuing resolution in the U.S. Senate to reopen the government, Democrats within the U.S. House of Representatives are condemning the progress and denouncing fellow liberals in the upper chamber who voted for the legislation.
Among the opposition is U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham).
In a video message published on X on Sunday evening, the lawmaker said she doesn't trust that Republicans will allow negotiations on health care once the government is reopened, as they have stated.
