No. 5 Georgia lost two key offensive players during its 41-21 victory over Mississippi State on Nov. 8.
Junior tight end Lawson Luckie took a nasty hit to the head late in the second quarter on an incompletion. He was down and motionless on the field for an extended period of time while members of Georgia 's training staff attended to him.
When he was finally up and mobile, he was taken to the medical tent and did not return to the game.
The hit ended up being called for targeting by a Mississippi State defensive back.
Luckie's mother, Hillary, posted an update to Facebook on Sunday in response to the hundreds of well-wishes and check-ins she'd received about her oldest son, writing that "it's probably every football parent's biggest fear to see your child get hit like that and
