LA Clippers rookie Yanic Konan Niederhäuser logged another appearance in the G League on Sunday, helping lead the San Diego Clippers in a loss to the Stockton Kings.
Niederhäuser produced 20 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots in the 117-108 loss on the road at Adventist Health Arena. He finished by shooting 7-of-9 from the field in nearly 33 minutes of work as the Clippers dropped to 1-1.
The 30th pick in the draft scored 10 points alone in the fourth quarter to lead the Clippers down the stretch. He worked exclusively in the paint, converting several tough finishes while also serving as a tremendous lob threat from the dunker spot.
Niederhäuser has played sparingly to begin the season with Los Angeles, totaling 24 minutes across five appearances for coach Tyronn Lue. He has been out of the rotation, with several players ahead of him on the depth chart.
The 22-year-old debuted with San Diego on Saturday, recording 10 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and two steals in a win over the Kings. He is one of six draft picks to register a double-double in the G League this season.
With playing time limited for L.A., Niederhäuser will likely see extended minutes with San Diego. The assignments offer a valuable opportunity for him to log significant minutes as part of his development plan with the team.
