The Boston Red Sox could attempt to acquire an impact starting pitcher for the second straight offseason.
Garrett Crochet gave the Red Sox a bona fide ace, but they can use another high-end hurler to accompany him and Brayan Bello. An insider identified a potential trade option that could make sense for Boston if available.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi floated the Red Sox as an “interesting fit” for Milwaukee Brewers starter Freddy Peralta. Morosi said Boston has a deep farm system and outfield depth to move for a high-end starter.
“They’re, I think, one starting pitcher away from making a real run at this,” Morosi said of the Red Sox on Monday’s “Hot Stove.”
