The Denver Broncos posted on X Monday afternoon that inside linebacker Alex Singleton had undergone surgery for testicular cancer last Friday, which had been diagnosed last week.
Singleton had just played the night before in the prime-time matchup with the Raiders, where No. 49 was a big part of the defensive dominance, logging nine total tackles.
The team reported Singleton is recovering well, and that it appears they caught the cancer early. Pending additional test results, doctors are optimistic the team captain can return to play this season.
“Our No. 1 priority is Alex’s health and well-being,” the team posted.
