Hundreds of people lined Polk Street on Saturday morning for Amarillo’s annual Veterans Day Parade, an event honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The Nov. 8 parade, produced by the Roan-Creek Marine Corps League, featured patriotic floats, classic military vehicles, and local high school marching bands performing tributes to veterans. Crowds waved flags and cheered as groups of veterans from every branch of service passed by, many dressed in uniform or displaying banners representing their posts.
Students from Caprock, Tascosa and Palo Duro high schools joined the celebration with drumlines and color guards leading sections of the parade. Local civic organizations, Scouts, and first responders also took part, emphasizing the city’s tradition of service and unity.
