TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Morning lows on Tuesday are forecasted to dip below 30°F, prompting the first freeze warnings of the season.
First Alert Chief Meteorologist Mike McCall says the low in Leon County will likely get to 29°F, while temperatures in South Georgia and other rural areas may reach 25 or 26°F.
If you factor in the wind, we are forecast to see wind chills that could dip into the low 20s across the whole region.
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee issued a Freeze Warning for Monday evening into Tuesday morning because of the low temperatures. Because this is the first freeze of the season, crops and other sensitive vegetation could be killed off.
