RICHMOND, Ky. — Eastern Kentucky University is celebrating the completion of renovations to its over 60-year-old arena.
On Monday morning, the EKU Baptist Health Arena at Alumni Coliseum was fully reopened. David McFaddin, president of EKU, calls it the ‘front door’ to EKU.
“Our students come in through this space; every single student orientation is here. This is the first place they see, and I think it sends a strong message about the experience we want to deliver on,” McFaddin said.
The $55 million renovation includes upgrades to the arena seating bowl, new VIP fan experiences and other amenities.
