CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Trump administration has filed an emergency request asking the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to immediately pause a preliminary injunction on federal immigration agents' use of force in the Chicago area, while it considers their appeal, saying the order violates the separation of powers.
"The district court has now issued an extraordinary preliminary injunction that no less reflects an improper aggrandizement of the judicial role and a violation of the separation of powers," the Department of Justice wrote in its request to the court.
