The Royals announced they have acquired outfielder Kameron Misner from the Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Misner was a standout at Mizzou, and hit .213/.273/.345 with five home runs in 71 games for the Rays last year.
Misner originally hails from Poplar Bluff, Missouri and was drafted by the Royals in the 33rd round of the 2016 draft. He passed them over to attend Mizzou, where he was named a Freshman All-American by D1Baseball. The Miami Marlins selected him with the 35th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 draft, and later traded him to the Rays in 2021 for infielder Joey Wendle. Misner showed good power and speed in the minors and made his MLB debut in 2024, appearing in eight games.
Misner is a left-handed bat who can play centerfield. T
