NEW ORLEANS — Three suspects have pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the killing of a French Quarter tour guide, avoiding a trial that was set to begin Monday.

Jerben Albarec, 18, Joshua Bonifacio, 20, and Kevin Nunez, 16, for their roles in the death of Kristie Gioe Thibodeaux, who was found shot inside her Jeep on St Peter Street in June 2024. Gioe Thibodeaux lived in Slidell and was a tour guide with Crawl New Orleans.

“She was a fixture in the community. She was very loved and known,” “She really was an ambassador of the city. She loved New Orleans, she loved the French Quarter.”

According to police, the trio had robbed three men before stopping near St. Peter and Royal streets. Investigators said Nunez, who was 15 at the time, got out of the car and attempted to rob Thibodeaux befor
