CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Two people were killed in a Chilton County crash on Monday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

James Owens Jr., a 20-year-old man living in Tuscaloosa, was fatally injured when the Chevrolet Camaro he was operating hit a Toyota Tundra head-on. Maplesville resident Justin Carlee, 42, was driving the Tundra.

Owens and Carlee died at the scene. The crash happened around 5:35 a.m. on Highway 82 about two miles west of Maplesville.
