Welspun Corp ’s Managing Director and CEO, Vipul Mathur, sees a new and fast-growing business avenue emerging from the rise of data centre infrastructure in the US.

Welspun Corp, a part of the global Welspun World group, operates in over 50 countries and provides complete end-to-end pipe solutions.

As Mathur explained, data centres have massive power needs, and with grid reliability weakening, many are now setting up their own gas-fuelled captive power plants. “Data centres are absolutely energy-hungry assets,” Mathur said, noting that transporting gas to these sites requires new pipelines. In this segment, Welspun Corp is becoming an important part of the value chain.
