RANDOLPH COUNTY — A Columbia teen is charged as an adult with murder in Randolph County.

Da’Caveon W. Nelson, 17, is charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree robbery for the shooting death of Ethan March, 22, in November 2024.

In a probable cause statement Nelson is accused of shooting March with a gun he was forcibly stealing from him. Nelson and his girlfriend fled the scene and were soon after taken into custody. Nelson reportedly admitted to the shooting when he was apprehended.

Nelson has been transferred from juvenile custody to adult jail. No court dates are scheduled at this time.
