A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by an SUV in Waterbury early Monday morning.
Patrol officers responded to the intersection of Highland Avenue and West Main Street around 6:05 a.m. for a crash involving a pedestrian and an SUV, according to the Waterbury Police Department .
Officers located the pedestrian, identified as 55-year-old Raul Natal Jr. of Waterbury, who was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers, according to police.
The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is conducting the ongoing investigation. Police said no charges have been filed at this time.
