Recount likely in Kitty Hawk mayor’s race

Tight Duck Council race falls just outside the 1% threshold

Based on the unofficial results of the Nov. 4 Dare County municipal election, a recount seems likely in the Kitty Hawk Mayor’s race.

In that contest, former Mayor Gary Perry currently trails Town Council Member Charlotte Deloatch Walker by just three votes.

There was another very close race in Duck where six candidates were vying for five seats on the Town Council. Miriam Rollin finished sixth, but she trails incumbent Council Member Bren Chasen by only four votes.
