TRENTON – Isabelle Payan enjoys her work as a tattoo artist, and this week, it’s much more than a job: it’s a vital cause.

The owner of East Coast Tattoo Studio will see more than 300 customers as part of the Three Oaks Foundation’s sixth-annual Inked for Three Oaks fundraiser. Three Oaks provides emergency shelter, support, and transitional housing to women and children who’ve experienced intimate-partner violence.
All programs are free and confidential.
Payan said she has a personal connection to the cause, one which allows her to relate to Three Oaks’ clients.
“This is actually really important for me and my children,” Payan said. “My first marriage was abusive.”
She said she endured it patiently and left the relationship when she was ready.
