It was a golden weekend for Bishop Hendricken’s team and Portsmouth standout Sean Gray at the New England Cross Country Championships.

The Hawks took home a regional crown and Gray was the boys individual champion on Saturday at Thetford Academy in central Vermont.

The state’s success wasn’t limited to the boys. Cumberland followed its third consecutive state championship with a runner-up finish behind local favorite Champlain Valley Union and La Salle closed in fourth place.

The Hawks put all five of their scorers in the top 25 to finish with 58 points, coming in ahead of New Hampshire runner-up Pinkerton Academy with 87.
