PHOENIX — An Arizona man was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for sexually exploiting children, authorities announced Thursday.
Joseph Alfrey pleaded guilty to three felony charges of attempting to sexually exploit minors, as well as one count of possessing narcotic drugs, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
Alfrey was sentenced last month and will be on probation for the rest of his life after he is released from prison, prosecutors said.
He will also have to register as a sex offender and take part in drug treatment and counseling, according to Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.
“Exploiting children is abhorrent and will not be tolerated in Arizona,” Mayes said in a Monday announcement. “My office will continue to prosecute child predators and protect Arizona’s kids
